Jade Kelly
Running for: President
Pronouns: she/they
Job title: Program Advisor - CU Student Government at the University of Colorado Boulder
Union: United Campus Workers Colorado
About the candidate: Jade Kelly is a model, an icon, a Colorado Civil Rights Commissioner, a proud CU Boulder university staff member, a mother to three badly behaved cats, but the true honor of her life has been serving as President of CWA Local 7799 for the past four years. During her time as President, Jade has helped triple our union’s membership, developed our local from one union to seven public sector unions, and expanded the rights for public workers from PROPWA (Protections for Public Workers Act) to securing strong collective bargaining rights for Denver municipal employees alongside Denver Public Library Workers United. Jade is running for re-election because she believes to her core that CWA 7799 has the potential to be the strongest political force in Colorado and a catalyst for a worker-led movement where every worker knows their worth, unites in solidarity, and fights for the public good. Jade understands that more union members means more union power, and if re-elected, she will do everything in her biography and ability to grow our union and ensure that every public sector worker has the right to bargain, the right to dignity, and the right to a livable wage. -

Aaron Kopic
Running for: Vice President
Pronouns: He/Him
Job title: Compliance Auditor
Union: Denver Health Workers United
About the candidate: Hello! My name is Aaron Kopic and I'm running for Vice president of CWA 7799. I have had the honor of representing Denver Health Workers United on the Executive Board for about 2 years now. From city council meetings to state legislative meetings, from door to door canvassing to meeting with executive leadership at Denver Health, I have been an advocate for growing worker power here in Colorado. I believe that a big union is a strong union. I want us to grow in members and power. If given the opportunity to serve as vice president my focus will be growing our union. Together we will accomplish great things. Thank you for your support. -

Carly Hamilton
Running for: Secretary
Pronouns: she/her
Job title: Attorney and former public defender
Union: Defenders Union of Colorado
About the candidate: As a co-founder of the Defenders Union of Colorado, I have been an active member of CWA 7799 since DUC joined the local. As secretary of the Executive Board, I’d like to create more opportunities for members across 7799 to connect and learn from one another. Building even more solidarity among our union siblings is more important then ever, and serving as secretary of the E Board presents an opportunity to do so.

Grace C M Chasuk
Running for: Treasurer
Pronouns: she/her
Job title: Denver Public Library clerk
Union: Denver Public Library Workers United
About the candidate: I served as your 2024-2025 Local treasurer and am running for a second term this year. As treasurer, I plan to continue stewarding Local finances toward sustainable membership growth, which I believe is crucial as our units transition from pre-majority to majority models. I also plan to increase access and transparency to Local finances. Outside of organizing, I'm often tending to houseplants, cooking, or geeking out over Satoshi Kon films. -

Conall McCabe
Running for: Treasurer
Pronouns: He/Him
Job Title: Graduate Research Assistant
Union: United Campus Workers
About the candidate: I’m a physics PhD student at CU Boulder and an active member of United Campus Workers, committed to transparency and accountability in how we manage our resources. Through managing UCW’s mutual aid fund, I’ve seen how much good we can do when we use our resources wisely. I’m running for treasurer to ensure every dollar we spend strengthens our organizing, protects our members, and sustains our collective power. -

Nesya Sloane
Running for: Treasurer
Pronouns: she/her
Job title: Graduate Research Assistant
Union: United Campus Workers
About the candidate: Hi everyone, my name is Nesya and I'm a graduate student worker in the chemistry department at CU Boulder. I'm running for treasurer because I've seen many of my fellow workers hesitant about joining their union over uncertainty that union membership is worth their money and lack of clarity on exactly how their dues will be used. As a member-led union, our democratic and transparent budget process is one of our greatest strengths, and I believe it deserves some more time in the spotlight, especially when it comes to connecting with future members. My aim as treasurer is to use CWA's budget not only to keep achieving union goals, but also to increase publicity and clarity about CWA and our campaigns so we can continue to empower current and future members and grow our strength. -

Alex Van Deerlin
Running for: Treasurer
Pronouns: He/Him
Job title: Investigator
Union: Defenders Union of Colorado
About the candidate: I'm Alex! I've worked as an investigator for OSPD going on three years now. Now savvier after having served as the Treasurer on DUC’s E-Board as well as representative on the CWA 7799 Finance Committee for the last year, and after participating in the organizing efforts in my office for the last two. I'm running to be the 7799 Treasurer because I like looking at budgets and thinking about ways to more effectively use our dues for organizing our units. I at least want to ensure our units know how much they have in their organizing budgets and are empowered to use them, though my wildest dream is to see our units come closer together and find ways to combine organizing efforts and throw our weight behind something huge.
